SEARCHING Wisdom
Even though it is impossible to become fully wise, the yearning and search for wisdom and deeper understanding of oneself and one's relationships to others, to the world and to God was the core of philosophy in ancient times. It is also the core of Philosophizing the Dialogos Way.
What is The Dialogue's approach?
The Dialogos approach was developed by Guro Hansen Helskog as a way of facilitating wisdom oriented dialogue from the mid-1990's on. As illustrated in her book Philosophising the Dialogos Way towards Wisdom in Education. Between Critical Thinking and Spiritual Contemplation (2019), the approach embraces other seemingly opposing approaches in the field of philosophical practice and dialogical pedagogy.
Target Group
The retreat is open to anyone, and does not require previous experience with philosophy or philosophical practice.
It is possible to engage in the process for at least two purposes:

As a journey of personal development, new insights and inner transformation

As a journey of professional development and inspiration for the practice of teaching, counseling or dialogue facilitation.
Practical information
Time frames: Friday 15.00 – Sunday 15.00
Facilitators: Guro Hansen Helskog and Camilla Angeltun.
Venue: Aarholt-tunet gjestegård og leirskole, Årholtveien 80, 3160 Stokke, Norway. Aarholt-yard Guest and school camps - Google Maps Flying in? If possible, chose Torp Airport, Sandefjord (20 min drive from Aarholt-tunet). Otherwise: Fly to Oslo Airport Gardermoen, then take a train to Tønsberg, 20 min from Aarholt-tunet. If possible, someone will pick you up there. If not, you will need to get a taxi.
Basic price: NOK 2600 / Euros 220, which includes all meals (dinner Friday and Saturday, breakfast and lunch Saturday and Sunday) and stay in shared room with bathroom in the room/flat. Wish to have a room of your own? Add NOK 1000 / 90 Euros extra for single room with private bathroom to your payment. Mark your registration with your choice of room.
